“When my wife and I traveled to Kyoto, we tried the traditional matcha green tea that is served locally and really enjoyed the quality,” Khanh tells What Now Orange County. “So when we returned to the U.S., we looked for places where we could get something similar. We couldn’t find any shops that served the same level of quality until we came across Junbi.”

Junbi sources their matcha directly from Japanese farms, where co-founders June, Dan, Anna, and Jeremy personally oversee the whole process of growing, harvesting and milling to ensure the highest quality and integrity of their product from their farm to your cup. Translating to “preparation” in Japanese, Junbi was founded on the principle of serving customers the best product, customer service, and experience.

Junbi’s matcha-forward beverages combine fantastic, innovative flavor with clean, natural energy that will last you almost all day, without any jitters or the crash from traditional caffeinated drinks. That’s because matcha is packed with high levels of L-Theanine, which helps the body gradually absorb caffeine over several hours versus all at once.

From Strawberry Matcha to seasonal offerings such as Pumpkin Spice Matcha, Junbi has a variety of drinks that can make every visit a new adventure. Khanh recommends the Yuzu Dragon Fruit Matcha. You will also find a variety of fruit and herbal teas, coffee, snacks and soft serve when they open in Irvine later this year.
