Parakeet Café is expanding into Orange County early next year. The San Diego-based chain announced plans to open a location in Newport Beach by February 2023, in addition to new stores throughout Los Angeles.
Carol Roizen and Jonathan Goldwasser founded Parakeet Café in 2017, starting with their first store in La Jolla, California. The husband-and-wife team sought to make clean eating accessible to their community and have since grown to establish five more locations throughout San Diego County, where customers can dine on wholesome and creative dishes and drinks in a vibrant environment.
“It was a natural fit to expand Parakeet Café to Orange County and we are thrilled to bring our menu of healthy foods to the community of Newport Beach early next year. We create each item on our menu from scratch, in-house from the finest locally sourced and organic ingredients and we really want people to experience the many benefits of these nutrient-dense dishes. The upcoming Orange County eatery, as well as our other new locations further our vision to offer healthy food that is not only convenient and delicious, but also positively affects the community,” Roizen and Goldwasser tell What Now Orange County.
Parakeet Café is popular for their turmeric latte and signature avocado toast, as well as their friendly, Instagram-worthy cafes that feature bright, energetic interiors with colorful custom wallpaper and neon graphics. The menu also features house-made pastries, colorful salads, nutrient-dense grain bowls, wraps and burgers, plus house-roasted coffees, fresh juices and smoothies.
