According to the Orange County Register, who first reported the news, the agreement entails the construction and operation of a 14,000-person-capacity outdoor concert venue. The city of Irvine will be responsible for construction while Live Nation will hire designers, as well as “purchase and install entertainment equipment, and operate and maintain the facility,” according to the report.

In the days before the council meeting, Live Nation shared with OC Register details of the proposed amphitheater, which include a modifiable pit area, vast lawn seating with cabanas, curated food and beverage options, ample parking and easy access for public transportation.

“We’re going to use our strength as a big company, who are in the food, beverage, hospitality and venue business, and use that first class experience to make this amphitheater the best. I will selfishly say, this will be the best amphitheater anyone has ever seen,” Live Nation Southern California President Bret Gallagher told the OC Register, who notes that the city anticipates a 2025 debut.
