Like so many other eatery’s, Booterbaugh’s operation debuted just before the dreaded pandemic hit and on the heels of the restaurant finally catching its stride. This turned Folks into a “take-out place” and provided the pair a chance to build the business, make pizza, and get better.

Now, the small but mighty pizza place is churning out incredibly well-considered pies alongside breads, meatballs, sauces, and salads. And though the menu is intentionally condensed — offering only four red sauce-based pizzas and four more white options — it’s Booterbaugh’s commitment to improvement that bolsters the joint to exceptional status.

Though Booterbaugh and Tran are currently focused on their maiden operation, the pair “plans, with time, to open a second full-service Folks location somewhere else in Orange County.” As the couple purposely moved their lives from LA to OC, they’re interested in “[growing] deeper, not wider, roots in their newfound home.”
