Chick-fil-A’s origins date back to 1946 in Hapeville, Georgia when founder Truett Cathy opened his first restaurant, Dwarf Grill. Some 15 years later, Cathy made a breakthrough with a pressure fryer resulting in the brand’s iconic chicken sandwich, and in 1961 he officially registered the name Chick-fil-A.

While the company operates more than 2,600 restaurants across North America and Puerto Rico, with a strong presence in the greater Orange County region to boot, Wohlgemuth’s outpost marks Chick-fil-A’s debut in Huntington Beach proper.
