SoCal Chicken is opening at 1610 East Chapman Avenue. Reza Medali, President of Medali Group Inc. and Team Blaze Inc., is planning to open the joint at an unspecified date.
Medali was unable to comment on the new joint when contacted by What Now Orange County on Thursday.
The brick-and-mortar will be opening next door to a Mexican restaurant and a Starbucks. SoCal Chicken’s new home will be a 1900-square-foot restaurant with street-front dining. Based on the location’s fast-food layout, it could be assumed that SoCal Chicken is potentially a new fast-service concept by Medali Group.
The space was previously leased to a Core Burger Grill. The building has been up for lease since June of 2023, according to leasing information sites. Core Burger opened under the ownership of Jahmal Gillespie, due to lack of funding the joint had to close its doors in early Summer 2023.
The chicken restaurant’s menu has yet to be revealed. In terms of the overall vibe and environment of the place, not much is known.
The CEO, Medali has been a franchisee of Blaze Pizza since 2013 and a franchisee of Subway for 31 years.
Blaze Pizza has over 50 locations throughout the United States and Canada. The pizza chain prides itself in having a variety of options for all dietary choices, including plant-based toppings and gluten-free crust.
