The Texas-based buffet began its California expansion in Cerritos and will next be hitting Anaheim at 5711 E. La Palma Ave. A plan review is awaiting approval before construction can begin, with owner Sam Khader hoping for an early 2024 opening date, he told What Now Orange County in a phone interview.  This second California location is only the start of the chain’s West Coast expansion. Third and fourth locations are next on the list after the Anaheim spot is up and running.

“We found success in the West Coast and love the area, and the people love us,” Khader said.

With over 65 items on the all-you-can-eat buffet line, Dimassi’s offers a diverse selection of Mediterranean cuisine. Options range “from salads all the way to lamb shank” — a braised lamb made with Dimassi’s signature seasoned sauce — Khader said.

“From succulent kebabs and savory shawarma to crisp salads and heavenly hummus, indulge in a tantalizing array of flavors, textures, and colors,” the website states.

Dimassi’s menu is fully halal and focused on providing healthy options for all patrons. The restaurant prides itself on its inclusivity of any dietary need, accommodating diets including but not limited to vegan, vegetarian, paleo and Atkins.

“It’s 100% halal meats that are used at Dimassi’s, and we make sure to push healthy, healthy Mediterranean diets,” Khader said. “Healthy foods across the board.”

The address of the upcoming restaurant sits in Canyon Village Plaza and was previously occupied by Marie Callender’s Restaurant & Bakery, which closed its Anaheim restaurant along with 18 others in 2019 following a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
