“We’re trying out a ghost kitchen concept,” said Knyazevskiy, who owns FISH DISTRICT with Marina Sergeyeva and Irina Rapp. “This looks to be a good location — it should be fun.”

Knyazevskiy’s family, who immigrated from Ukraine to the United States in the 1990s, helped him foster a passion for food. “My family loved to cook, and we all shared recipes,” he said.

FISH DISTRICT opened its Carlsbad location 2013 and has now expanded to four additional locations in Aliso Viejo, Solana Beach, Irvine, and Carmel Mountain Ranch.

The restaurant’s menu includes poke, tacos, salmon burgers, Manhattan and New England clam chowder, salads. The Express location will feature updated cuisine offerings.

“We are launching a new sushi line with three different types of rolls, and fried items like fish and chips, a poke bowl, and a combo basket,” said Knyazevskiy.
