The 27-year-old restaurant is no longer owned by founder Steve Tsirtsis, who opened the restaurant in 1996. It is now owned by veteran restauranteur Charlie Cosmas.

Cosmas and his family took over Citrus in July. Cosmas also own Charlie’s Best Burgers. He said he took over the restaurant because he believes in it.

“I just really believe in the product in the ways that the restaurant had been set up as far as the menu and the service level,” Cosmas told What Now. “It has a history. Basically, the quality of the food and the quality of the staff really made that decision for me.”

However, despite the taking over Citrus, Cosmas won’t be changing much.

“I’m hoping to maintain,” Cosmas told What Now. “It’s about maintaining the history of the store.”

He added that the menu and staff will stay the same. However, he will be introducing new items that customers have asked for.

“We’re not changing anything,” Cosmas said. “We might bring some more seasonal stuff. I’m just listening to our client base.”

Currently, Citrus City offers brunch options as well as lunch and dinner options. Items on the menu includes different types of Pizza, Pasta and appetizers like steamed Manila Clams.

Other than listening to customers, Cosmas is also extending an invitation to those who know about the restaurant but have yet to visit.

“Come on by, we’re here,” he said.

Citrus City Grille is located at 122 N Glassell St in Orange.
