Plans are currently under review, and show a proposal to add onto an existing building on the property, making space for a restaurant on the ground floor and residential units on top. The records also state that Rasta Taco would have indoor and outdoor seating, and offer beer, wine, and alcohol sales from 11 AM to 9 PM daily.

Founded by Mario Melendez, Rasta Taco has gained acclaim for its unique dishes and dynamic catering services. He originally conceived the idea while vacationing in Jamaica in 2006, wanting to combine traditional Mexican street tacos with Jamaican spices and flavors.

Specializing in corporate events, weddings, and private parties, Rasta Taco offers a diverse menu featuring dishes like Caribbean Carne Asada and Jamaican Chicken, complemented by signature sauces and salsas. The company quickly gained popularity through its catering services and later expanded to a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Laguna Beach.
