Chelas posted the exciting news on Instagram this month, saying “We’ve been working hard and can’t wait until we have our 2nd location! So many delicious new menu options coming as well. Thank you to all of our friends, family, and supporters who are making it possible!”

A plan review for the project was received by the Orange County Health Care Agency on November 10th, records show. It states the work involved will include remodeling more than 1,000 square feet of the site. Renderings the company posted show a sneak peek of the front entrance sign.

The eatery, which was founded in 2011 by El Salvadorian-born Karla Vasquez, offers staples like burritos, tacos, salads, bowls, and enchiladas. It underwent a rebrand from Chelas Mexican Grill to Chelas Mexican Kitchen in 2020.
