According to a recently filed pending liquor license application, the forthcoming restaurant is slated to take residence at 1170 Baker St Ste G2 in Costa Mesa, promising a new chapter in Pendergrast’s culinary journey.

Adding an extra layer of mystery to the excitement, a website registered under the moniker Mo Mi Mei in April 2023 currently sits undeveloped and “parked” with GoDaddy.

In October 2023, Pendergrast officially registered the entity MO.MI.MEI LLC with the state of California, signaling a significant step towards bringing Mo Mi Mei to life.

Despite the mounting anticipation, the concept and details surrounding Mo Mi Mei remain shrouded in secrecy. What Now Orange County reached out to Pendergrast who did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Sidecar opened its flagship Costa Mesa location in 2013, “setting the stage for our community-driven brand, dedicated to the freshest doughnuts and absolute best customer service,” according to its website. “As we expanded to the north and south, we brought with us our core values of quality, connection and delight, and built upon our mission to always create places where people could connect and experience the delight that is doughnuts.” Sidecar has seven locations, according to its website.
