The $277 million project will result in a Nickelodeon-themed resort with a 23-story hotel featuring 500 guest rooms; 22,296-square feet of restaurant and dining space; a 7,000-square foot arcade; a spa and fitness center; plus a pool area with water slides, splash zones, and a lazy river.

Kam Sang Company Project Manager John Hicks tells OC Register, “We’ll be bringing Nickelodeon to the real world… I’m excited to see the characters off screen and bring them to reality.” The resort will be a part of Grove District, the city’s burgeoning tourism district which sees a lot of business from tourists visiting Disneyland.

What’s more is that the resort is expected to create up to 700 construction jobs and as many as 600 hotel jobs. Part of the sale’s terms includes a preference for hiring local union construction workers to build the resort and local residents to work in the hotel.

Groundbreaking on this project is scheduled for November of 2024, while the completion of the hotel is slated for 2027. There are currently two Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts in the world, located in Punta Cana and Riviera Maya. For more information, visit www.nickresorts.com.
