Global gelato brand Gelatissimo is expanding its presence in the United States with plans to open a new location at 304 Marine Avenue #B, city records show. Located on Balboa Island, the gelato shop, will be a quaint spot for a quick sugar fix.

The company filed for a minor use permit for the 767-square-foot space, which is on a 2,254-square-foot lot. There will be minor modifications made to both the façade and interior of the building, those records show. There are three parking spaces onsite.

Operating hours are proposed to be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and holidays. The establishment will serve guests on a grab-and-go basis, with no seating for customers shown on renderings.  

Gelatissimo has gained international acclaim and won numerous awards for its flavors. The brand operates over 65 stores worldwide, with locations in Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, and the United States. It first entered the U.S. market in 2022.
